The visionary of today’s Peninsula Group Mr. Monowarul Hoque has been a part of the cotton trade and related textile industry since early 90’s. He has been involved in spinning sector from the initial privatization of the textile industry. For a period, he was operating some of the government run mills on contract basis, spinning his own cotton into yarn and paying a service charge. Subsequently, he was one of the first Bangladeshi cotton merchant to have imported and sold Raw Cotton from different origins- having started his career through the yarn trade with his company Hoq Traders in 1990. With that the journey of Peninsula Group began. Today the group is involved in Cotton Yarn Manufacturing, Deep Sea Fishing, Yarn Trading, Fish Processing, and Nationwide Infrastructure Development Business. The group also runs a charitable organization.
Peninsula Group Milestones:
1990: Started the journey of Hoq Yarn Traders as a Proprietorship firm.
1996: Incorporated Hoq Traders as a Limited firm with the name Hoq Yarn Traders & Co. (Pvt.) Ltd..
1997: Started the journey of 21st Century Hosing Ltd.
2005: Started the journey of Peninsula Fishing Ltd.
2007: Started the journey of Ashik Composite Textile Mills Ltd. Rotor Unit.
2007: Started the journey of Peninsula Sea Food Ltd. with brand name Oceanus.
2007: Started the journey of Peninsula Welfare Trust.
2010: Entered into Agreement with SEA-MASTER APS, DENMARK for establishment of Sonar Equipment under DANIDA B2B Programme.
2014: Started the journey of Ashik Composite Textile Mills Ltd. Ring Unit.
